As indicated by the graph, we understand that the sale of credit cards in 2017 was relatively in its infancy
in terms of popularity, with the total number of credit cards sold online that year reaching 4,823,104.
For reference, 5,288,438 credit cards were offered for sale in the month of January 2018. The year 2020
began with high numbers of credit cards offered for sale, but a noticable drop occurred in March. Altough
the numbers dropped significantly, up until July the numbers were still higher than the preivious year.
Considering the leap in credit cards sale between July and November 2019, the numbers for the same
period in 2020 seem low, but when compared to the same period 2018 and 2017, the numbers for 2020
are still higher. The year 2021 started with lower numbers of credit cards offered for sale comparing to
2020, between April and June a steady decline was observed. 2021 started with a relatively low number of
cards sold online compared to the same month in the previous year (6,451,855 in January 2021 compared
to 15,723,789 in January 2020). In the following months the numbers did not change dramatically and
remained lower when compared to the previous year.
When looking at the total number of credit cards offered for sale, we notice that 2019 demostrated the
highest number of credit cards offered for sale out of the years invastigated. The graph below summarizes
the total number of credit cards offered for sale over the years, while the number of 2021 contains data
