Data Fusion and Analytics for Chief Investigators, 2022 Survey Report
The Most Important Capabilities Currently Missing in Investigation Workflow
To get the other side of the conversation,
we asked respondents what is missing in
the investigation workflow. 73% of
respondents reported missing important
capabilities.
The top important capabilities currently
missing in the investigation workflow are
independently tailoring analytics to your
needs (40%), using AI/ML to predict
potential threats (35%), and extracting
identifiers from unstructured data (23%).
These are closely tied to the capabilities
of AI/ML, customizing analytics to
contextual needs, and accessing predictive
capabilities. This is the area the
government sector is moving towards, so
it's no surprise to see these as desired
capabilities.
These answers suggest that while a large
percentage are using data science, AI and
machine learning, their current capabilities
are still insufficient for advanced use
cases.
