2022 IT Leaders in the Data Fusion/Analytics Domain Survey Report
Investment in In-House Development vs 3rd Party Solutions
Organizations that developed their
own data fusion solutions plan to
invest over $2.55m on average during
2022, which is 29% more than those
using 3rd party vendors (who are
planning to invest $1.96M).
This indicates that self-developed
solutions are far costlier to develop
and maintain than outsourcing.
In-house development may have been
chosen as a strategy to combat a
particular challenge but will often not
have the flexibility to allow the
business to adapt to changing needs.
This can make changes and updates
very costly in comparison with a 3rd
party solution, which is designed from
the outset to offer flexibility and
customization.
