4.2.4 Geo-Spatial Analytics
NEXYTE includes geo-spatial analysis capabilities and presents all geo-related information on a map.
Geospatial information or locations may be derived from a variety of structured or textual sources:
police log data, telephony and messaging metadata, online interactions, external GIS-GPS systems,
field agents, etc.
All location information is merged into a uniform geographic system by geo-coding. The same
geocoding process is applied when users search the system for an address, the search process
automatically translates the location into searchable coordinates.
NEXYTE geographical maps include a world-wide map allowing users to view and investigate location
data within the investigation context.
Geospatial analysis tools include:
+ Geographical display presents events, activities, and data on the map, including related
information such as type and time of event. Geospatial display depicts the routes and
routines of suspect entities to reveal location links between suspects, crimes or events.
+ Geographical search allows users to search areas on the map by circle, rectangle or polygon,
search for events occurring in the specified area, or search data that is relevant to it.
+ Geographical alerts are issued based on suspect’s entry to/exit from defined areas of
interest.
+ Geo-clustering aggregates locations to display the number of occurrences. On zoom out
from the image, points on the map are merged according to geographical vicinity and shared
characteristics.
+ Geographical layers can be added to support meaningful investigation-related information.
