6 2022 IT Leaders in the Data Fusion/Analytics Domain for Risk Assessment, Decision Making and Investigations 4 5 Self-developing a solution for data fusion and analytics is more costly than outsourcing to a third party Organizations that have developed technology in-house for data fusion and analytics report a forecasted spend of more than $2.55 million in 2022, compared to just $1.96M for those who have outsourced data fusion to a third-party vendor. While many companies look to save Operational Expenditure (OpEx) by building in-house, the truth is that home-grown solutions don’t have the flexibility to meet changing demands, and therefore become costlier to maintain and develop in the long run. The right third-party solution should play nicely with System Integrators When thinking about choosing a third-party solution, almost two-thirds (64%) of CIOs prefer working with System Integrators when it comes to data fusion and analytics, with the top reasons for this saving certification and training for in-house staff, (56%) and 55% saying it allows internal staff to focus on the business’ own core competencies. 46% also believe that working with an external System Integrator provides them greater flexibility to scale up and down. There are clearly great benefits to gain from a holistic solution.
